It is deep and structured and is going to take plenty of time to reach its plateau of maturity, but it will end up being one of the top wines crafted in this excellent vintage. The nose delivers a superb blend of cassis, black cherries, black plums, grilled meats, a marvelously complex base of soil, coffee bean, woodsmoke, cedary oak and a touch of currant leaf in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and shows off stunning depth at the core, with a beautiful foundation of soil complexity, ripe, seamless tannins and stunning length on the perfectly balanced finish. All this great, great wine needs is time in the bottle to soften up and properly blossom!"-John Gilman

Vinous 96

"The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru has a perfumed bouquet with pure brambly raspberry and cranberry scents, understated at first but blossoming in the glass. There is something almost regal about these aromas and it eventually develops a lovely cherry Bakewell scent. The palate is very well defined with finely chiselled tannins that convey a sense of symmetry that is beguiling. Plenty of sapidity on the finish, this fans out gloriously. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting."-Neal Martin
