This heavy Rye mashbill (Bourbon) 36% Rye, 60% Corn, 4% Barley was a barrel selection of a private whiskey group. After tasting it, we managed to find out that there was a remainder amount that came from this barrel #83 – we took it all!
Deadwood Tumblin’ Dice 6-Year-Old Single Barrel, Barrel Proof #83 is a straight bourbon whiskey with a heavy rye mash bill that has been aged for 6 years in new charred oak barrels before being bottled at 117.6 proof | 58.8%
Nose : Honey, baking spice, toffee and some pepper. This has that high rye glory, a balance of baking spice, oak, sweet desserts and proof. Smells bold, but doesn't have a burn / ethanol presence.
Taste: Buttercream, maple candy, brown sugar and butterscotch. Light pepper, nice texture. Fairly viscous on the palate with Toffee, oak, creme brulee and a hint of fresh corn.
Finish: Lingering finish, plenty of brown sugar, toffee, a hit of pepper and sweet oak.
