"Nebbiolo is a fickle grape! Some producers grow Nebbiolo in vineyards that are never great enough to make Barolo… either they face the wrong direction or the resulting grapes don’t yield a wine worth aging the 4 years to call it a Barolo. Some producers grow Barolo quality Nebbiolo and label it as "Langhe Nebbiolo." The latter is the case here with the 2020 Cavallotto Langhe Nebbiolo.

Cavallotto Nebbiolo is a delicious Barolo labeled as Langhe Nebbiolo that’s hitting those hallmarks of red fruits with flowers/spices that shows well now and will benefit from 5 years in the bottle. Experience has taught me well. Cavallotto’s Langhe Nebbiolo is consistently a gem that all Italian red wine collectors should buy every year. Why? Pop a cork and read why… Corks all say Bricco Boschis…That’s the $50-60 Barolo being bottled as “Langhe Nebbiolo” and being priced as such. This transcends the stature of your typical Langhe.

Having visited Cavallotto and walked the vineyards of Bricco Boschis, it is quite an honor to present values like this. One can see the tremendous quality at this great estate at every price point.
