"The 2020 Saint-Amour from Domaine des Bruyères is fairly moderate in its ripeness, in the context of this drought vintage, as it comes in at an even fourteen percent octane. It is dark in color in the style of 2020, but offers up a bight and sappy nose of sweet dark berries, black cherries, roasted game, coffee bean, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a touch of chicory in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and nicely light on its feet for the vintage, with a lovely core of black fruit, good soil undertow and grip, moderate tannins and a long, well balanced, complex finish. This is very good, but will certainly benefit from a few years in the cellar to soften up its tannins a bit more."-John Gilman
