Domaine de Trapadis is certified organic and biodynamic, cultivating a 35-hectare parcel in and around Rasteau; founded in 1850, it is now in the capable hands of Helen Durand. The different Rhone terroirs are vinified separately, and the winemaking is gentle to encourage infusion rather than extraction. Every effort is made to produce wines that are dense yet elegant, delicate and long-lasting. Mostly Grenache, the Cairanne is fermented in concrete vats with indigenous yeasts, then aged in cement vats on fine lees for 18 months.
