More refined and suave is the 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Boudriotte, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine evocative of cherries, dark berries, vine smoke, spices and petals.
Magenta to purple in colour. The nose is currently a bit reductive, but this is not set in. The fruit up front is generous and juicy, much more successful than the Morgeot, with dark cherry notes alongside the ripe red berries. Much less in the way of tannin, this is elegant for where it comes from and persistent. Alpine strawberries reappear at the back.
