Bodega Norton was founded in 1895 at the Mendoza River Valley. The estate winery is located at the foothills of the Andes, at altitudes ranging between 850 to 1100 m. above sea level. “Altura” means altitude, height above sea level, combination of day solar intensity and atmospheric pressure. Altura was inspired by the connection between soil and elevation and microclimate in a special vineyard located in Uco Valley in Mendoza.
From vineyards planted at 1,600m in Gaultallary at the northern end of the Uco Valley, this Pinot has lovely freshness and purity of fruit, which is preserved thanks to ageing in concrete eggs. Vibrant aromatics of raspberry and blueberry fruit, followed by more red and blue berries on the palate, with dry spice that lends a savoury edge, plus a lingering finish. (Drink between 2020-2023)
