The eponymous red 2013 Muradella Viticultura de Montaña, comes from Muradella mountain viticulture, as he selects grapes (even some whites) from the higher altitude vineyards and ferments them together: Bastardo, Mencía, Mouratón, Garnacha Tintorera, Dona Blanca and Gran Negro. The wine fermented in an open oak vat, with a high percentage of full clusters (more than 60%) and indigenous yeasts, with a two-month maceration. It matured in different sized oak barrels for its élevage and then kept in stainless steel for one year. It's spicy and earthy, and there is a creamy touch, too. The palate is medium bodied, with finesse and balance but not lacking power. This has inner strength and concentration, too, but looks light. The tannins are very fine grained. There is contained ripeness and nicely integrated wood.
