Camus-Bruchon is a family estate in Savigny-lès-Beaune, a village tucked between the hills above Beaune and the slopes of Corton that has long been undervalued, which is great news for those of us who want real Burgundy terroir without the big-name markup. Reine Joly built the estate by hand-picking parcels across Savigny, Pommard, and Beaune, and today Guillaume Camus oversees every aspect of the vineyard work, with vines that average about 35 years old and some pushing 95. This Bourgogne Blanc is 100% Chardonnay, and the domaine's restrained use of oak keeps the fruit front and center. Expect crisp orchard fruit, a squeeze of citrus, and a chalky mineral finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. Pour it with roast chicken, seared scallops, or a creamy goat cheese.
