The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune “les Lavières” is my favorite Savigny in the lineup chez Camus this year, but that is often the case, as I just love this terroir. The wine’s aromatic constellation is complex and classy, offering up scents of cherries, red currants, fresh nutmeg, violets, Savigny spice tones, a gorgeous base of volcanic soil and a gentle framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and supremely elegant in profile, with a sappy core of fruit, great soil signature, fine-grained tannins and seamless balance on the long and youthfully complex finish. This is going to be a great bottle in due course.  - John Gilman
