The 2023 Mont?e de Tonnerre from Domaine Servin is a simply beautiful young bottle of Chablis! As I have mentioned before, these vines range from thirty-five to more than fifty-five years of age and see no oak during their ?levage. The bouquet of the wine is deep, precise and vibrant, wafting from the glass in a blend of fresh lime, pear, wet stone minerality, dried flowers, citrus peel and a touch of anise in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, zesty and full-bodied, with an excellent core of fruit, a great spine of acidity, superb mineral drive and cut and a long, complex and impeccably balanced finish. This is an outstanding example of this great premier cru terroir and a stunning value! - John Gilman
