Gerard Seguin Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 750ML 2023

Here’s a producer we’ve been working with since the 2012 vintage, and one that continues to overdeliver year after year. We’ve essentially been buying the lion’s share of Gérard Seguin’s wines coming into the U.S., and the 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is another standout. The quality here consistently lands at a level where the price should be much higher, but somehow isn’t. Simply put, you won’t find Gevrey of this caliber from other producers without paying significantly more. Sourced from 75–100+ year old vines on the Chambolle side of Gevrey, this is a serious bottle with clear Premier Cru character. And yet, the pricing remains refreshingly reasonable, by design maybe, so people actually drink the wine. In a world where Burgundy prices keep climbing, that’s become a rarity. There aren’t many reviews either, but the wines sell out every vintage all the same. The most recent score for thie Vieilles Vignes was for the 2020 vintage, which earned 95 points from Decanter, and that should tell you everything you need to know.
