The 2022 Mercurey Le Clos l'Ev?que 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with red berry fruit, briar and light floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp entry. It?s quite linear in style and doesn't fan out on the finish. That said, this was a barrel sample, and I feel it will gain more flesh once in bottle. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
