Producer Description:

Attunga 1865 Shiraz is a single vineyard, Clare Valley Shiraz made from some of Australia's oldest living vines. These 900 individual Shiraz vines, planted in Clare's ancient Terra Rossa soils, were established in 1865 before the phylloxera scourge which decimated the vines of Europe and the USA. Released only in years of exceptional quality, this wine offers amazing intensity and complexity, achievable only from vines of this age. Spicy plums, mocha and dark blueberries are evident on the nose, followed by a rich, textural palate delivering sweet, mouthfilling berry fruits, clove spices and silky tannins. Wonderful finesse and persistence of flavor.
