Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2023 750ML - (Pre-arrival)

"Expressive and finely detailed, this vintage weaves together vibrant red fruit, warm spice, and savory complexity. Notes of red currant and raspberry are complemented by hints of sandalwood, mocha, and dried oregano, creating a wine that is both inviting and nuanced. While finely detailed and composed, the wine broadens through the mid-palate, revealing notable depth and dimension. The palate is defined by a soft entry and seamless texture, unfolding into a round, generous mid-palate supported by supple, fine-grain tannins. Fresh acidity and vibrant fruit bring lift and energy to the wine, culminating in a juicy, persistent finish. Approachable in its youth, the wine possesses the balance and structure to reward additional cellaring, allowing further complexity to emerge while retaining its freshness and poise for the next 15+ years."-Winery

"The 2023 Merryvale Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from the estate’s 10 hectare Profile Vineyard in Conn Valley, alongside fruit from the Oak Knoll District. The grapes ferment on skins for up to 21 days before being drained to barrel and aged for 16 months in 50% new French oak. Fragrant and medium-bodied, the wine shows crunchy blackberry and black cherry fruit, underpinned by a racy line of acidity. Ironstone minerality and subtle floral notes carry through to a cool, wet-stone finish."-Jonathan Cristaldi
