Ian D'Agata 97+ "Moderately saturated red. Offers savoury aromas and flavours of salted plum, hoisin sauce, blueberry nectar and forest floor, complemented by a dusting of Oriental spices. Broad, supple, fleshy and ripe on entry, then quite savoury and saline, this is a very tactile but suave wine that speaks of old vines. The tannins are noteworthy but polished on the long and dense close. A very serious Pajè, with a clear savoury note that is not typical of this vineyard, but it’s an unusual Pajè wine this year. Normally, the Pajè cru delivers very floral and bright wines, but this 2021 is an especially rich, dark-coloured version of wine from this cru. Had I been served it blind. Much as it was with the 2020, I doubt I would have guessed it to be a Pajè."-Ian D'Agata
