Matt Reynvaan has become one of the best, if not the best, winemakers in the state of Washington and his superb Syrahs showcase what he does best - age-worthy, complex, and layered wines from the Rocks district. His “In The Rocks” Syrah hits you in the face with a delectable, complex and constantly changing nose of freshly brewed black tea, blueberry compote, uncooked bacon fat, ground black peppercorn and grated grapefruit zest. The structure of the wine is practically perfect with a core of black fruits, green olives, sagebrush, roasted leg of lamb and a hint of grapefruit pith.
