From Hollywood to Tuscany

In 1973, Italo Zingarelli made a surprising career change. He was a successful movie producer, famous for making spaghetti western films. But when he bought Rocca delle Mac?e in Tuscany's renowned Chianti Classico region, he decided to try something completely different ? making wine.

Working alongside his son Sergio, Italo transformed the property into a world-class winery. Today, Sergio lives there with his wife Daniela and their two children, continuing the family tradition.

The Zingarelli family, now led by Sergio, focuses on creating elegant wines that truly capture the unique character of their land. Sergio has twice served as chairman of the Chianti Classico Consorzio (the organization that oversees quality standards for Chianti Classico wines), showing his deep commitment to the region.

He's a passionate advocate for both the special terroir of Chianti Classico and the Sangiovese grape that makes these wines so distinctive. Rocca delle Mac?e stands out as one of the few Tuscan wineries to earn the prestigious DOCG designation ? Italy's highest quality rating ? for their top wines.
