The Vice Gewurztraminer Brooklynites 2.0 Orange Wine 750ML 2024

If your wine drinking has gotten too predictable, this orange wine is a fun way out of the rut. Winemaker Malek Amrani is one of the Napa Valley pioneers of the style, and he named this bottle for two favorite Brooklynites, Carly and Kenny, who help make The Vice tick. The grapes come from cool, breezy Los Carneros, and Amrani treats this white grape like a red, leaving the juice on its skins to build that amber color, a little grip, and a lot of personality. The wine is fermented with wild yeast, left unfiltered, and made with low sulfites, so what's in the bottle is about as honest and unfussy as it gets. In the glass it's wildly perfumed, with lilac and rose on the nose, then stone fruit and a nutty, slightly savory finish on the palate. Pair it with takeout Thai or spicy chicken tacos.
