Willett—just saying the name gets bourbon nerds excited, and for good reason. This distillery keeps putting out incredible American whiskey, and this wheated bourbon might not be their oldest bottle, but damn does it deliver. The label says eight years, though that's just the youngest whiskey in here—there's definitely some older stuff blended in too.
Pop the cork and you're hit with this amazing mix of sweet grain, fresh pastry, stone fruit, and vanilla that just pulls you in. Take a sip and it opens up with milk chocolate, a hint of Earl Grey, molasses, dried apricot, and butterscotch that sticks around on the finish. At 108 proof, you'd expect more heat, but it goes down surprisingly smooth. Willett did it again.
