The 2022 Régnié Montmerond comes from 50-year-old vines grown on shallow granitic soils. It underwent a two-week maceration followed by 12 months of aging in used barrels. It has a focused bouquet, quite mineral-driven with crushed stone percolating through the pretty raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is tensile on the entry with rocky detritus that seems to shape the finish. Very distinctive. - Neal Martin
