Antonio Madeira is a winemaker of Portuguese descent, who was raised in France before returning to his home in the highlands of Portugal's Dao region to start his own label in 2011.
After rejuvenating some old, neglected vineyards high in the Serra da Estrela hills, Antonio set about producing a set of outstanding field blends that speak of his home. Biodynamic practices underpin the venture, as does a natural, Burgundian-inspired approach in the cellar.
Each wine is co-fermented. Antonio believes that grapes that grow together should go together. The resulting wines are startlingly pure - etched with clean lines, fresh acidity and crunchy mineral texture. Made in tiny quantities and mainlining a sense of place, these are exciting additions to the Portuguese landscape.

A field blend of Touriga varieties and the local grape Alfrocheiro, grown on deep granite soils, which lends a crunchy, energetic minerality to the wine, and a stony, satisfying finish.
