Arnot Roberts - Pinot Noir Fox Creek Vineyard 2022

The Fox Creek Vineyard is a stunning planting situated at 1100 feet on a remote ridge above the Carmel Valley in Monterey County. The vineyard was planted in 2006 to Dijon clones 667 and 115 in well drained granodiorite clay loam that lends itself perfectly to growing world class Pinot Noir. This meticulously farmed vineyard produces tiny, compact clusters of fruit that deliver soaring aromatics and concentrated, crystalline flavors inflected with salinity from the influence of the nearby ocean. The long, cool growing conditions at Fox Creek, coupled with organic farming techniques allow for pure varietal expression at low potential alcohol. In short, Arnot-Roberts is thrilled to have found this site and look forward to many more years of working with this gorgeous fruit.

Arnot Roberts Description

Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts, along with a small group of fellow trailblazers, have led the way in helping redefine what California wine can be and taste like. Their wines have a deep sense of terroir, refined and elegant structure and are deliciously complex. In 2001, when they began this endeavor, finding local wines with these qualities was tough. But along with their aforementioned colleagues, they started a small revolution and these days you can walk into many a wine shop and find an example of what's been coined, “The New California Wine”. Arnot Roberts has become synonymous with New California wine in a lot of ways. Since their founding in 2001, they've spent a lot of time scouring the state for some of the best previously unknown vineyard sites, doing so with a respect for the environment that is nothing short of remarkable. They work with all their growers to encourage organic farming and minimize their environmental impact: these are wines that are not only delicious, but that you can feel good about drinking.

Vinous: 95 Points

The 2022 Pinot Noir Fox Creek Vineyard emerges from a site in Carmel Valley planted on granite and clay. Intensely mineral and bright, the 2022 possesses terrific energy and tons of verve. Chalk, mint, white pepper, orange peel and bright, redtoned fruit all build in the glass. This sculpted, chiseled Pinot is compelling. - Antonio Galloni
