The 2020 Vinha Centenária is a field blend from vines 100+ years old, mostly Arinto dos Açores (85%) but several others as well, such as Verdelho, Alicante Branco and Boal. It was aged in a 75/25 blend of stainless steel and used French oak for 12 months. It comes in at 13.4% alcohol. Surprisingly full in the mouth, this coats the palate, dribbling fruit over it and letting the fruit linger. It's a dry and complex wine, like all of them, but it seems fruity in its own more serious way. There is a nice acidic backbone as well. It should hold well, but there's no real track record. Still, this looks potentially special. There were just 1,530 bottles produced.
