This domaine bottling comes from 0.39ha in the Combe d'Orveau, one of the coolest sites in the vineyard. The fruit is destemmed but the berries are left as intact as possible, with a substantial percentage of whole clusters, and the wine is aged in just over 50% new casks. The result has a lovely intensity of blackberry fruit and exotic spice, a firm, finely-honed tannic edge, and substantial extract on the palate. This should age well for decades to come.
