The Bourcier-Martinot Mâcon is one of those white Burgundies that just makes sense—great wine, great price, no fuss. Childhood friends Jean-Luc Terrier and Christian Collovray make it at Domaine des Deux Roches up in the northern part of Mâcon, keeping things clean and fresh by fermenting in stainless steel instead of oak. What you get in the glass is pure, vibrant Chardonnay with loads of Granny Smith apple, white peach, pear, and melon, plus some citrus and stony minerality that keeps things interesting. It's lean, bright, and wonderfully balanced—the kind of wine that proves you don't need to spend a fortune to drink really well.
