Bricco Ciarla is an up-and-coming producer from Treiso making waves in Barbaresco with their old-school, hands-off winemaking style. Bricco Ciarla sits on top of a hill (that's what "bricco" means in Piedmontese), and their fruit comes from limestone soils that give the wine some serious aromatic complexity. The 2020 vintage was a warm one in Piedmont, so expect ripe red cherry and plum notes with hints of rose petal, dried herbs, and a touch of spice—classic Nebbiolo vibes with approachable tannins that make this one ready to enjoy now. These guys respect tradition but aren't afraid to do their own thing, and it shows in the glass with wines that are elegant, honest, and totally expressive of where they come from.
