Carpineto - Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva 2017
Jeb Dunnuck: 93 Points
The 2017 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva takes on a darker, more reserved tone in its notes of black cherry, blackberry, licorice, and leather. Generous and full-bodied, it is approachable up front, with juicy and sweet ripe fruit, black cherry candy, lavender, and iron-rich earth. The two wines are a wonderful lens into the contrasting vintages of 2018 and 2017, and both have a lot to offer.
