"In contrast to the pandemic vintage of 2020, the 2019 Clos la Néore is another absolutely classical year for this great wine. Like the 2021 version, it tips the scales at fourteen percent octane, which was pretty much standard ripeness for most of Edmond Vatan’s greatest vintages back in his heyday. The wine offers up a vibrant and youthfully complex nose of lime, pear, fresh mint, a touch of candied orange peel, a lovely array of Chavignol botanicals and a foundation of kaleidoscopic limestone minerality. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, precise, racy and rock solid at the core, with great mineral undertow and grip, a superb spine of acidity and a very, very long, nascently complex and seamlessly balanced finish. This is going to be another absolutely great wine once it reaches its plateau of maturity! 2035-2075+"-John Gilman
