"This superb Clos de Vougeot from Méo-Camuzet has ravishing ripe blackberry fruit aromas with hints of rose petals and liquorice. The texture is silky yet firmly tannic, and enlivened by surprisingly fresh acidity. This cuvée is from Méo’s vines near the château in the section called 'La Garenne' in thin soils (60-80 cm) over limestone. In some vintages Méo blended his parcels together; when they were separate, this was bottled as Près du Cellier, but he is not sure what it will be called in 2023."-Charles Curtis, MW
One of the darker purple colours with corresponding richness of fruit on the nose. Ripe plum and boysenberry. Crisper fruit on the palate with good tension, a mix of red and black fruit. This is the plot round the Château and there will be a separate Grand Maupertuis cuvée (not sampled) with a cuvee name.
