The new release of Aurélien Suenen’s Oiry Blanc de Blancs is from the base year of 2019. I have never tasted finer non-vintage releases from Aurélien than this version of Oiry and his also new C+C bottling, as both wines are showing a precision of expression and nascent complexity that one usually only finds in vintage-dated wines. The new Oiry bottling was disgorged in July of 2022 and finished with a svelte three grams per liter of dosage. The bouquet leaps from the glass in a beautiful blend of pear, passion fruit, stony limestone minerality, bread dough and a beautiful topnote of orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is crisp, deep and full, with laser-like precision, a great core, superb mineral drive, elegant mousse and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish.
