La Corvee is one of the northernmost Premier Cru vineyards in the Cote de Beaune, located within the lesser-known Ladoix appellation. Although the vineyard is in sight of the Corton hill, the site of some of Burgundy's greatest vineyards, it has a distinctive terroir making mostly Pinot Noir-based wines that are fruit driven and muscular, if slightly less refined than those of its Grand Cru neighbors.

The HIll of Corton lies to the north of the City of Beaune, at the northern end of the Cote de Beaune.  It has the Cote de Beaune’s only vineyards with Grand Cru red (Corton), and one of two producing Grand Cru white (Corton-Charlemagne).  The Ravaut family has been making wine in this corner of the Cote d’Or for generations, selling mostly to a regular clientele.  

The Domaine Ravaut is the ultimate local wine source. For 120 years the family has cultivated a loyal clientele of friends, neighbors, and workers at the stone quarry in their tiny hamlet of Ladoix. Today winemaker Vincent Ravaut still sells over half their wine to folks who walk in the front door.
